Thank You to Dollar Tree

The Pantry extends a big "thank you" to the folks at Dollar Tree on Kings Highway for their recent donation - a gift of over 700 items weighing 500 pounds! Generosity such as this is very much appreciated and is essential to keeping the pantry well stocked so that we can better serve our patrons. Thank you for your kind support.

Food Security

Patrons at our food pantry worry that their food will run out before they have money to buy more and also find that they can't afford to eat balanced meals. The USDA considers these very real concerns for many persons to be at the heart of the food security situation in the U.S.. And these concerns are what your support, either as a volunteer or donor, directly helps to alleviate in the neighborhood around St. Anthony's. We could not do what we do with out you.

Another Busy Day

The smooth and successful distribution of food each Thursday at the St Anthony's Pantry would just not be possible without our volunteers. And having some twenty of our regular volunteers stop working and get together for a group photo is not a particularly easy task but somehow John Vaughn, another of the regular volunteers, managed to do just that resulting in this great picture of most of last week's hard working crew. Thank you John and thank you all.

Students Help at Pantry

Last week a group of students from Bishop Stang High School as well as other students gave up time from their vacation week to help our regular volunteers. Pantry visitors were especially happy to share in the luncheon that the Bishop Stang students served. Thank you to all for your help ... and your smiles.

Breakfast Thank You

A big THANK YOU to everyone who purchased tickets and came to our All You Can Eat Breakfast last Sunday. Your generosity resulted in $1600 being raised to benefit the food pantry. Thank you to Joel Cosmo, Stacie Hallal-Moussa and the pantry volunteers whose efforts preparing for and serving at the breakfast made this fund-raiser such a success. And of course, thank you to all the volunteers who give of their time each Thursday to help and serve those less fortunate.

April Showers

Fortunately for pantry visitors and volunteers, the heavy showers that were forecast for yesterday held off until after closing time. Before then well over a hundred persons picked up food. And as always the Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate were here with us, generously helping wherever they were needed.
